Belarusian President’s Visit Boosts Bilateral Relations

Islamabad (TDI): Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko concluded his three-day official visit to Pakistan on Wednesday, marking a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally saw off the Belarusian leader at the Islamabad airport, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the visit, President Lukashenko and Prime Minister Sharif held extensive talks, reviewing the full spectrum of bilateral relations.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, and social spheres.

Both leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening friendly ties and unlocking new avenues of collaboration.

The highlight of the visit was the signing of 15 agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).

Among these was the Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation for 2025-2027, a strategic document aimed at boosting economic cooperation and fostering closer ties in various sectors.

President Lukashenko’s delegation included a group of prominent Belarusian businessmen and investors who actively engaged with their Pakistani counterparts.

These meetings focused on exploring investment opportunities in diverse sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, and technology.

The visit provided a platform for fostering trade partnerships and encouraging joint ventures to benefit both nations.

In a symbolic gesture of goodwill, Prime Minister Sharif presented the Belarusian President with a specially curated photo album capturing key moments of his visit.

The presentation underscored the hospitality and significance Pakistan places on fostering strong bilateral ties with Belarus.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, accompanied the Prime Minister during the farewell ceremony.
