Dhaka, 3 November 2021 (TDI): Bangladeshi Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina is serving as the chair of the Climate Vulnerable Forum for the second term.
Bangladesh has an excellent record of Climate resilience, initiated various discussions at Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF). Sheikh Hasina made a Climate Prosperity Plan, which was named Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan (MCPP). Under this plan, Bangladesh intends to obtain 30% of energy from renewable energy sources by the end of 2030. The member states of the Climate Vulnerable Forum are also reviewing Bangladesh’s Climate Prosperity Plan. Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan would work through a channel of five themes to reach its goal by the end of 2030.
In this plan, Bangladesh will enhance its technology and economy. They will first lay the foundations of all sectors and then invest in these sectors. Secondly, Bangladesh will construct energy hubs. These energy hubs will reproduce the energy from fossil fuels to ensure the up-skill of labor. It will also allow the energy sectors to capitalize on high-value exports in the form of green hydrogen.
Thirdly, They will work for global green investment funds for domestic green energy development programs. This will also enhance the capabilities of the private financial sector, depending on its finances. Lastly will mainly focus on the education system of Bangladesh. In this theme, they will transform their educational system so that they will produce professional workers, not job seekers.
By adopting this plan Bangladesh will not only work to counter the climate crises but also become prosperous. With this plan, Bangladesh will become a middle-income country. This plan will also help Bangladesh to reach the goals and targets of international organizations within time.
