Glasgow, 3 November 2021 (TDI): Xie Zhenhua, the special envoy of China on Climate Change urged the international community to stay committed to the Paris Agreement.
Xie Zhenhua emphasized the Paris Agreement on the margins of the 26th United Nations Conference of Parties (COP26) in Glasgow. He stressed the importance of implementing the slogans of Climate Change in real-life by the developed countries. He said that this Agreement is a landmark for the conservation of the planet earth from Climate Change.

The Paris Agreement will help to achieve the climate targets to prevent climate change, he added. He also urged the developed countries for increasing the funding for climate change as climate change adaptation and climate change mitigation are equally important. Xie said that the developed countries announced funding of $ 100 billion for the developing states in the climate change fight but the funding hasn’t been done yet.
He then highlighted the Chinese efforts against Climate Change. The special envoy of China emphasized that China contributes 30 to 50 percent of the global contribution to climate change.
He said that China knows the importance of the Paris Agreement but the efforts made by the developed states aren’t enough in the global fight against climate change. He added that the international community should focus on actions rather than on slogans. No one is safe in the world until everyone is safe. Therefore, the world must meet the goals set by the Paris Agreement by 2050.
