Baku, 11 July 2023 (TDI): Today, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov held a highly productive meeting on bilateral relations with Tobias Lindner the State Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various important aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries, in addition to addressing the prevailing regional and international situation.

 

Bilateral Cooperation in Multiple Fields

During the discussions, Minister Bayramov emphasized the significant progress achieved in multiple fields of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany. These fields include politics, economics, energy security, culture, and education.

Minister Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the development of relations in these areas and emphasized the crucial role played by high-level visits and political contacts in enhancing the dynamics of the partnership.

Furthermore, the importance of the political consultation mechanism in fostering further expansion of relations was highlighted.

Touching upon Azerbaijan-Armenia Peace Talks

Minister Bayramov also took the opportunity to provide a detailed update on the current regional situation during the post-conflict period, as well as the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

He underscored the continuous military and political provocations perpetrated by Armenia against Azerbaijan and the persisting threat of landmines, which remain major obstacles to the peace process.

Future Prospects of Collaboration

State Minister Tobias Lindner acknowledged the tremendous opportunities for expanding the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany.

He specifically noted the wide range of prospects for further collaboration, particularly in the utilization of traditional and alternative energy sources.

Germany expressed its full support for Azerbaijan’s efforts in establishing and maintaining peace and security in the region.
