Rawalpindi, 11 August 2021 (TDI): The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong met the Chief of Army staff Gen.Qamar Javed Bajwa at the Army headquarters in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
In the meeting, both sides had detailed discussions over areas and matters of mutual interest for China and Pakistan. Gen Bajwa and Amb. Nong also discussed the current CPEC situation and prospects for regional peace, stability, and security matters in detail.
Ambassador Nong during the meeting appreciated the efforts made by Pakistan in ensuring regional peace and stability. He also mentioned that China will fully support Pakistan and will remain as its core strategic partner.
Since the Dasu incident in July, Ambassador Nong has held several meetings with authorities including COAS, President Alvi, FM Shah Mehmood, and Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed, to discuss the security matters.
