Ankara, 11 August 2021 (TDI): President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has spoken with his Georgian counterpart, President Salome Zourabichvill over a phone call on Wednesday. The two sides discussed Turkey-Georgia relations and regional issues of concern.
“Georgia and Turkey are close friends and neighbors,” commented President Zourabichvill on Twitter, while expressing solidarity with Turkey over the tragic wildfires.
President Erdogan expressed his gratitude to President Zourabichvill for praying for Turkey’s recovery from forest fires. President Erdogan further stated that the two states would jointly work on energy and transportation projects by utilizing the new emerging opportunities in the European region.
