New York, 25 September 2021 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs of Yemen, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the latest developments in Yemen pertaining to the peace and humanitarian situation. The Safer tank issue and the situation of the UN mission in Hodeidah were also discussed. The Secretary-General of the United Nations declared resolve to aid the country and its people. The UN will play its part to end the war, stop the travails of Yemenis and intensify the peace efforts. The Yemeni Foreign Minister on his part affirmed his country’s support in the UN’s endeavors to reinstate peace in his country.
Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, the Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations, and Rosemary DiCarlo, the Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Peacebuilding also attended the meeting.
