New York, 25 September 2021 (TDI): On the sidelines of UNGA76, Denmark Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod met with Ghana Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
It has been 60 years of Denmark and Ghana diplomatic relations. Both sides discussed their common priorities like the promotion of green growth and political cooperation.

Further, Foreign Ministers of Denmark and Ghana discussed maritime security. Denmark is a seafaring country and is keenly interested in promoting maritime security and safety, freedom of navigation. Denmark has engaged in providing maritime security, strong support in the Gulf of Guinea since 2015.
Jeppe Kofod also appreciated Ghana’s strong leadership in the Economic Community of Western African States (ECOWAS). Ghana has also contributed to the peacekeeping missions.
Moreover, Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod said that Denmark is proud to be in a longstanding partnership with Ghana.
