Sochi, 5 March 2024 (TDI): The World Youth Festival has kicked off of at the Sirius Federal Territory in Sochi on Friday, According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia
Over 20,000 promising participants from 190 nations have gathered for the year’s greatest international youth event. These participants include young leaders from a variety of fields, including science, culture, education, international cooperation, sports, business, and media.
During the opening ceremony, President of Russia Vladimir Putin addressed the participants of the WYF, stating, “Multi-ethnic unity is our supreme value, and it has largely shaped the principles by which our state and society live and develop today.”
From March 1 to March 7, there will be a plethora of scientific, cultural, educational, and athletic events planned as part of the festival, which aims to strengthen ties between young people from around the world.
This week has 800 activities planned, including master classes, panel discussions, training sessions, exhibitions, concerts, and roundtables.
The regional program of the World Youth Festival will be held from March 10 to March 17. During that time foreign participants will visit 30 Russian cities.
Organization of the World Youth Festival
In an effort to promote global youth collaboration, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on April 5, 2023, designating Sochi as the host of the World Youth Festival in 2024.
The Russian Federation’s government was given orders in 2023 to work with federal administrative authorities to create and implement plans to prepare for and host the World Youth Festival in a three-month period. The decree also specified how the Festival’s activities would be covered by the public media, along with how funding sources for its planning and implementation would be identified.

On June 24, 2023, coinciding with Youth Day, the application campaign for participation in the festival commenced. During this event, the concept, program, and logo of the forthcoming festival were unveiled and received.
The festival’s goal is to create a global forum for youth networking. It places a high priority on principles, respect for one another, and the diversity of nations’ cultures, and it sees the International Youth Festival as the center of a future just world.
