Abu Dhabi/Brussels, 10 March 2023 (TDI): The European Union (EU) delegation to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), organized a campaign to bring together women from the UAE and the EU.

The campaign aimed to share their insights, experiences, and advice for advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls everywhere in the world.

This campaign is organized in order to celebrate International Women’s Day, celebrate the progress made towards gender equality and women’s empowerment, though recognizing that there is still work to be done.

EU-UAE Campaign

The campaign called “International Women’s Day: Voices of Women from the UAE and EU”, intended to promote intergenerational dialogue between women from different backgrounds in order to discuss women’s issues.

The main agenda and focus were to bring together different perspectives, and experiences of women of different ages, and backgrounds in order to promote a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by women today.

The campaign was composed of different short videos that featured pairs of remarkable women from the UAE and the EU.

These short videos would be released soon that covered different themes related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

In these videos, women from different backgrounds have shared their insights and perception in order to advance gender equality and empower women.

Moreover, responding to thought-provoking questions would provoke deeper reflection on the issues related to gender-based optics.

The EU and UAE made significant progress in terms of women empowerment in their respective regions. The EU remained focused on the agenda of increasing gender equality with its policies and initiatives.

These initiatives promoted the participation of women and leadership roles in all sectors including economic, social, structural, and administrative, under the Gender Equality Strategy.

UAE also made remarkable progress regarding women’s empowerment in recent years, as UAE has taken several initiatives that aimed at increasing women’s participation in the workforce, and also promoting their leadership roles in various fields.

The collaboration between the EU and the UAE could be built on their respective strengths and experiences in order to create a more equal and empowering future for women both within their countries and beyond.

This campaign is an example of the EU and the UAE’s commitment to working together toward gender equality and women’s empowerment.
