Kabul, 4 August 2021 (TDI): The US Embassy in Kabul tweeted an OP-ED on 4 August 2021 outlining the women’s education and employment status in Afghanistan with the assistance of USAID Scholarship Programs.
Afghanistan has done tremendously well in efforts concerning gender equality and women’s emancipation in previous years with the help of the USA. Women in Afghanistan, today, have better lives with quality education, new opportunities, find jobs, and adequate health services as compared to the year 2000. The Afghani women are acing in every field: Science, Technology, Medicine, Business, and Engineering. They have played a key role in the development of the country.
USAID has provided Afghan women with 11,500 scholarships in the last 13 years creating opportunities for millions of women to acquire high-quality education in schools.
Ross Wilson, Chargé d’ Affaires OF USA to Afghanistan congratulated USAID and Afghanistan on these remarkable achievements and asserted that Afghanistan should take pride in its young and determined people particularly women.
