US wishes Pakistan Happy Sindh Cultural Day

Karachi, 8 December 2021 (TDI): On Sunday, the United States of America’s Consulate in Karachi on Sindhi Cultural day 2021 wished peace and success to the third largest province of Pakistan, Sindh.

The US Consulate General published a video and wished Sindh on its annual cultural day 2021. In the video message, the US consulate General called Sindh to be a land of Poets, Saints and Sufi’s. The Consul General appreciated the inclusive and tolerant society of Sindh.

The US Consulate General wished Sindh and Pakistan a Great Cultural Day on behalf of the United States of America. The Consulate general expressed respect and delight by wishing the people of Sindh a Happy Cultural Day in the Sindhi Language.

The Consulate General in the video was wearing the Ajrak Shawl around his neck. The Ajrak Shawl holds great importance for the people of Sindh, as it is said to be a notion of pride for Sindhi men and a symbol of glory for Sindhi women.

As for the backdrop of the video, they used Ajrak shawl and the flag of both the states United States of America (USA) and Pakistan.

Such respect and wholesome gesture by the US consul in Karachi on such a joyous occasion shows the strong, friendly, and bilateral relationship between USA and Pakistan.

Sindh Cultural Day is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of the last month of the year, December. The Cultural Day of Sindh is celebrated annually to signify the peaceful identity of Sindh Culture. Also, to grab the attention of the world towards the rich and diverse heritage of the Sindh province.

To express zeal and zest the people of Sindh province wear their ‘Ajrak printed Shawls’ and ‘Sindhi topi’. The cultural day is celebrated with music functions and different kinds of fairs and rallies are arranged in different cities of the Sindh province. People from different provinces also join in to celebrate the culture and heritage of Sindh.
