Islamabad (TDI): The US Acting Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs John Bass called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in his office.
The two dignitaries discussed economic and security issues, particularly efforts to counter terrorism and violent extremism. Both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

According to US Mission Spokesperson Jonathan Lalley, both sides emphasized the importance of fostering regional stability and prosperity and strengthening their partnership on various challenges.

“Under Secretary Bass expressed his gratitude for Pakistan’s continued cooperation in assisting Afghans in resettlement pathways to the United States,” he said.

The US Under Secretary congratulated Ishaq Dar on Pakistan’s recent election to a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2025-2026 term. He said the United States was keen on working closely with Pakistan during its tenure on the council to address global issues of mutual concern.
