US to Help Pakistan in Modernizing FIA: Natalie Baker

Islamabad (TDI): The United States will assist Pakistan in modernizing the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) based on the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) model.

This was stated by Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker during a meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad on Tuesday.

“The US will also provide support to enhance the National Forensic Agency’s effectiveness to meet modern standards,” she said.

During the meeting, Naqvi stressed the significance of US collaboration in strengthening Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies.

He said it was the government’s priority to equip the country’s civil armed forces with modern equipment and tools to effectively deal with terrorism and emergency situations.

Naqvi also underscored the longstanding, robust relations between Pakistan and the United States, which span several decades.

He clarified that Islamabad will not expel any foreign nationals possessing valid legal documentation. However, individuals without legal status will not be permitted to remain in the city.

Ambassador Baker extended her best wishes to Pakistan for successfully hosting the upcoming Champions Trophy.
