Washington DC, 13 August 2022 (TDI): The United States (US) Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken released a statement on foreign nationals in Ukraine. The Secretary of the State mentioned that Russia has been violating humanitarian laws in the region.

According to him, the Russian military has been violating international humanitarian laws in the region. This violation has been affecting the British, Swedish, and Croatian nationals in the region.

US stance on Ukraine

Secretary of the State, Blinken in his statement highlighted Russia’s oppression in Ukraine. The US claims that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine cost the lives of innocent civilians including foreign civilians.

Russia has committed numerous crimes in Ukraine including health crimes, war crimes, and a crime against humanity, making it difficult for civilians to access basic items.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recorded 445 Russian military attacks on hospitals. Such attacks inhibited the functioning of Health facilities in Ukraine.

Also, Blinken in his statement highlighted that the Russian Federation has to comply with the rule of law. To restore the worsening conditions in Ukraine, international organizations must take action.

He stated that the foreigners in Ukraine are not being given their basic rights. The Russian continuous attacks have impacted the functioning of the county institutions to provide locals with their rights.

Moreover, the Russian attacks have impacted the economic and political standpoint in Ukraine. The US believes that Putin caused the national industries to paralyze. This instability has put Ukraine’s economy 4 years backward.

Shortly repeated monetary funds might make conditions stable. The recovery will take time but it is expected to make potential growth in the region.
