US Secretary of State consults Jordanian leaders on Gaza conflict

Washington DC, 7 March 2024 (TDI): The United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the ongoing Gaza Conflict with the Jordanian foreign minister and Deputy prime minister on Thursday.

The ongoing conflict has entered into 153rd day, as per the State Department.

Today, Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken held discussions with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi.

Secretary Blinken expressed gratitude to Jordan for its intense collaboration in coordinating joint US-Jordan airdrops to Gaza to deliver vital humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians. He stressed the importance of ensuring the delivery of substantial additional humanitarian assistance.

The old rhetoric is going on between the two leaders, Antony Blinken and Safadi, in efforts to secure ”an urgent and sustainable ceasefire,” a part of an agreement that would assist in releasing hostages and increase humanitarian aid.

The Israel attacks on the Gaza Strip have severely damaged human life and infrastructure. Till now, this state has unleashed a deadly military offensive on the Gaza Strip since Oct 7, 2024.

Furthermore, both sides have shared mutual considerations over preserving the historical status quo of Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.

In such a scenario, more than 30,700 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, 2023. In this case, thousands of people have been displaced since the inception of the Oct 7 military aggression.

The Israeli Authorities claimed that Hamas killed 1200 people. Moreover, people have faced massive destruction and shortages of hostages. Palestinians are standing on the verge of starvation with the heavy blockade on the Gaza Strip by the Israeli government.

In this regard, the Israeli war has converted the Gaza population into internally displaced persons (IDPs) amid acute shortages of food, water, and medicine.

One of the stories went viral on social media where a mother said, ”My daughter has eaten her little sister’s hand due to the acute shortage of food.” It is a single story revolving around the public offices of the Western world and the Muslim Ummah in particular.

Israel is facing allegations of genocide before the International Court of Justice. In a preliminary decision issued in January, Tel Aviv was instructed to cease genocidal actions and ensure the provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza’s civilians.
