Beijing, 7 March 2024 (TDI): On Thursday Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated China’s support for Palestine in becoming a full member of the United Nations (UN), Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Thursday.

Noting that the failure to end the humanitarian disaster caused by the Palestinian-Israeli conflict today in the 21st century is a tragedy for humanity and a disgrace for civilization.

Moreover, Minister Wang emphasized the urgent need for the international community to prioritize an immediate ceasefire.

Minister Wang underscored the inherent right of the Palestinian people to live peacefully in their homeland, urging the release of all those held captive.

Moreover, he stressed that achieving justice for the Palestinian people and implementing the two-state solution in its entirety are indispensable steps towards breaking the cycle of conflict between Palestine and Israel.

Restoring justice to the Palestinian people and fully implementing the two-state solution is the only way to break the vicious circle of Palestinian-Israeli conflicts, Wang said.

“We support Palestine’s full membership in the UN, and urge certain UN Security Council member to stop laying obstacles to that end,” Wang said.

China calls for a more broad-based, more authoritative, and more effective international peace conference to work out a timetable and road map for the two-state solution, he added.

Urges Earlier Negotiations on Ukraine Crisis

Similarly, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the necessity of initiating peace talks to address the ongoing Ukraine crisis during a press conference held on Thursday.

“All conflicts have to end at the negotiating table and the earlier the talks start, the sooner peace will arrive,” he said

“All our efforts point to one goal, that is, to pave the way for ending the conflict and starting peace talks,” Wang told a press conference held on the sidelines of the ongoing session of the national legislature.

China supports the holding in due course of an international peace conference that is recognized by both Russia and Ukraine and ensures the equal participation of all parties and fair discussions on all peace plans, he said.
