US Rebukes India Over Trump’s Ceasefire Role Denial

Washington (TDI): The US State Department has subtly pushed back against India’s rejection of President Donald Trump’s involvement in brokering a ceasefire between Pakistan and India in May.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce emphasized that Trump and senior US officials played an active part in the behind-the-scenes negotiations that led to the de-escalation of hostilities in May.

Responding to questions about New Delhi’s stance, Bruce remarked: “Many statements speak for themselves. One of the advantages of the modern age is that people can see events unfold for themselves, they’re no longer solely dependent on official narratives.”

Bruce’s comments appear to contradict India’s repeated assertions that Washington had no role in the ceasefire that followed a brief but intense military confrontation between the two nuclear neighbors.

“Everyone is entitled to an opinion,” Bruce added with a touch of irony. “But some opinions are simply wrong, mine usually aren’t.”

She also touched on the rapid spread of information in the digital age, suggesting that technology has made it easier for the public to understand international developments more clearly.

“This is an era where smartphones and real-time updates allow people to grasp the full picture,” she said. “President Trump used that clarity to communicate directly with the world, and that transparency helped in moments of high tension.”
