Baghdad, 9 November 2021 (TDI): US President Joe Biden has strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
The White House issued a written statement of US President Joe Biden. The notification stated: ‘I strongly condemn the terrorist attack targeting the residence of Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Kadhimi.’
The armed drone attack in Green Zone spelled danger for US Embassy, PM House, official residences, and diplomatic buildings. US military’s defense equipment ensures a proper countering mechanism against any attack or militant assault.
Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, the JOC Spokesperson, stated that: ‘We’re discussing the matter with US side and American embassy officials.’
The failure in thwarting the armed drone attack has raised serious concerns in Iraq’s security committee cabinet. The military response by the Iraqi Army led to the destruction of 2 out of 3 armed drones. One drone managed to attack the Iraqi Prime Minister’s residence.
