US President and State Secretary Congratulated Japan’s New Prime Minister

Washington, 6 October 2021 (TDI): U.S President Joe Biden and the Secretary of State Antony Blinken congratulated Japan’s newly elected Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.

In his congratulatory remarks, President Biden stated that the alliance between the US and Japan is the foundation of peace and security in the Indo-Pacific. President Biden also remarked that he is looking forward to working in cooperation with Prime Minister Kishida in the future.

In his concluding remarks, President Biden also commended the efforts of the former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga for strengthening the US-Japan alliance and successfully completing his tenure.

The US State Secretary Antony Blinken also sent his congratulatory remarks to Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio. Secretary Blinken stated he once had the opportunity to work with Kishida-san when he himself was serving as the Deputy of state secretary while Kishida was serving as Japan’s Foreign Minister.

Secretary Blinken also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Kishida for his commitment towards the mutual goals and objectives of the USA and Japan.
