Chicago, 23 June 2023 (TDI): Pakistan’s consul general in Chicago, Tariq Karim, in collaboration with CAPRC (Central Asia Productivity Research Center), organized a seminar on “Pakistan’s Partnership with the US Midwest: Opportunities in Trade and Investment, Tourism, and Education.”

The seminar aimed to showcase Pakistan as a significant destination for tourism and business. This event was attended by a large number of entrepreneurs and CEOs, traders, tech executives, think-tank representatives, and prominent community members.

Speaking at the occasion, Tariq Karim emphasized economic diplomacy. It was one of his key priorities to enhance Pakistan’s partnership with the Midwest region.

The seminar shed light on the tremendous potential of trade collaboration between Pakistan and the Midwestern region. Tariq Karim stated that Pakistan’s geostrategic location, its market size, natural and human resources, and liberal investment policies make it a hub of trade and investment.

Furthermore, the other different speakers highlighted the promising opportunities available for business in the Midwestern region, focusing on Pakistan’s growing economy and favorable investment climate.

The consulate general highlighted Pakistan’s growing partnership with the midwestern region as evidenced by rapidly increasing trade, investment, and people-to-people interaction.

Other panelists briefed participants about their expanding investment in Pakistan.
