US Embassy Islamabad celebrates 75th Anniversary of Fulbright Program

Islamabad, 1 December 2021 (TDI): The United States of America (USA) Embassy in Islamabad announced the 75th anniversary of the United States Fulbright Scholarship Program for youth around the world.  

The US embassy in Pakistan expressed gratitude over the 75th Anniversary of the US Fulbright Scholarship program. This program is funded by the United States of America. The Fulbright Scholarship program has been operating in Pakistan for the last 71 years.  

It is a good opportunity for the youth of Pakistan as it helps them in studying at the prestigious universities of the USA. Moreover, it is a cultural exchange initiative adopted by the US for students from Pakistan.  

The program allows the young potential students of Pakistan, to go abroad and present their cultural values in a foreign country. These students go there to represent their country and learn the cultural values of the USA as well. The goal of this program is to help students understand the importance of diversity and inclusion. 

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program a virtual event was arranged, that included notable personalities such as the Secretary of US States, Antony Blinken, the second gentleman of USA Douglas Emhoff, and the Alumni of the program.  

Antony Blinken appreciated the efforts that Fulbright has made across the world and hopes that it will continue to change the lives of people and communities through its efforts. 

Douglas Emhoff appreciated the program and called it an everlasting journey for its alumni. He briefed on how Fullbright Alumni are making a great difference in the world. He said through their work they are promoting equity, human rights, and most importantly Justice in the world. 

Fulbright Program has been a great success for the United States of America in promoting diversity, inclusion and in forming good relations with various countries around the world. The USA aspires to continue with this program and to bring a positive change in the world.
