Islamabad (TDI): US Charge d’Affaires to Pakistan Natalie Baker met Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad on Wednesday and discussed the evolving regional situation as well as diplomatic efforts related to the proposed second round of talks in Islamabad.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on ongoing regional tensions and the importance of maintaining diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation. The discussions also focused on sustaining communication channels between relevant stakeholders involved in the peace process.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated US President Donald Trump’s initiative to extend the ceasefire. He said this move is an important development towards reducing tensions.

The meeting emphasized the need for the continuation of diplomatic channels for a lasting resolution of the conflict.
Mohsin Naqvi said Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are making every effort at all levels to resolve the issue.
