UoL, CMSTECH Offers Fellowships to Bangladeshi Scholars

 Lahore (TDI): COMSTECH and University of Lahore (UoL) have jointly launched a fellowship program for the Bangladeshi Scholars and Students, state-run broadcaster, Radio Pakistan reported on Sunday.

According to COMSETCH, this program underscores a shared commitment to fostering talent, innovation, and academic exchange among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, media reported on Sunday.

The fellowship program seeks to provide exceptional opportunities for Bangladeshi students and researchers to pursue higher education and engage in cutting-edge research across a variety of disciplines, including allied health sciences, engineering and technology, pharmacy, management sciences, social sciences, and the humanities.

The initiative also includes training for technical personnel working for science and technology and engineering laboratories.

UoL, COMSTECH and Eligibility

The program is open to Bangladeshi nationals aged 22 to 45, residing in any country of the world, with outstanding academic achievements and a demonstrated commitment to contributing to their communities.

It covers tuition fee waiver, round-trip airfare, honorarium, and free accommodation.

The eligible candidates can apply through the official websites of COMSTECH and the University of Lahore until first March this year.

Bangladesh and Pakistan have launched efforts to improve bilateral ties following the departure of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from office in August last year.

Bangladesh or East Pakistan, formerly part of Pakistan until gaining independence in 1971, experienced strained relations with Islamabad under Hasina’s leadership, especially after her government prosecuted Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leaders for alleged war crimes during the liberation war.

Dhaka and Islamabad, both are looking economic partners in the region for development, they are also striving for stability and regional connectivity.
