United Nations Pakistan Congratulates Champion Haider Ali

Islamabad, 4 September 2021 (TDI): The United Nations in Pakistan on Twitter extended their congratulations to champion Haider Ali on bringing the first-ever Paralympics Tokyo 2020 gold victory to Pakistan.

On Friday, the Athlete Haider Ali created history by winning the first-ever gold medal at Tokyo Paralympics. He achieved the feat in the men’s F37 Discus Throw competition, his personal best throw of 55.26 meters at his fifth attempt out of a total of six earned him the honor. According to Radio Pakistan, Haider threw almost 3 meters longer than Ukrainian athlete Mykola Zhabnyak who won Silver with a throw of 52.43 meters, while Joao Victor, a Brazilian athlete, earned the Bronze medal with a throw of 51.86 meters.
