New York, 27 September 2021 (TDI): Today UNICEF posted on Twitter that they are going to match the grant collected by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) during global citizen live. UNICEF shared news about 45M children who suffered last year from wasting and a life-threatening situation of malnutrition that disproportionately affects the youngest and poorest people all over the world.

During the event, Global Citizen Impact and CIFF have announced a grant of $50M USD to prevent and treat waste all over the world. While posting a comment on their own post on malnutrition, UNICEF shared that they are going to match the grant with an additional $50M. They also say that together we can ensure the health of every child and provide them nutritious food to grow healthy.

Moreover, Global Citizen Impact is an effort of engaged citizens. With this platform, citizens from all over the world are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty by 2030. According to their official Twitter account, “this campaign was originally launched by Gates Foundation and CIFF Child. In this campaign, they have launched a challenge fund of up to $50M to motivate other corporate and philanthropic donors to accelerate in closing the $100M funding gap for the UNFPA Supplies Partnership Program”.
