Mexico City, 27 September 2021 (TDI): The Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Chung Eui-Yong, on September 24. The meeting happened on the margins of the 76th UNGA reunions.
The Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen the Strategic Association for Mutual Prosperity, established in 2005. The interlocutors discussed the governments’ commitment to participate in diverse activities to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the bilateral relations next year.
They stressed the importance of dealing with the structural causes of migration from Central America. Also, they expressed their support for the consults to reinforce the cooperation to back the program Sowing Life in the region.
In economics, the Ministers acknowledged the growth of trade and investments in recent years. Both representatives reaffirmed the commitment of their governments to boost this positive trend. Last, they discussed the bilateral collaboration against Covid-19 pandemics. The Foreign Minister agreed to promote the bilateral trade of medicines.
