Da Nang, 4th September 2021 (TDI): A virtual training course on gender violence, gender equality, and prevention of gender-based violence in light of COVID-19, hosted by the UNFPA Vietnam was attended by 30 youth fellows. The virtual training course aimed to make working spaces, as well as media propaganda to be safe spaces for all people.
The training was also hosted by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union. The theme of the class was “Reducing the impact of COVID-19 for vulnerable population group”. The program builds on the UN’s sustainable development goals in Vietnam and was funded by Japan.
Small scale and individual training of youth in small groups will allow a better dialogue, experience-based knowledge, skills for prevention of violence, and understanding of the issue at hand. The training is a small step to reverse the effects of gender-based violence against women and girls in the COVID-19 pandemic.
