UN holds 10 year memorial ceremony of UN House bombing in Nigeria

Abuja, Nigeria, 27 August 2021 (TDI): United Nations regional office in Nigeria held a memorial ceremony for the victims of a bomb attack in the UN office on 26 August 2011. The incident killed 26 people among which 23 were UN staff. The UN employees came together to remember the souls departed on this bleak day on this memorial day.

The Resident Coordinator for UN Mr. Edward Kallon says this is a dark day for all UN members in Nigeria. The UN promises to work and serve humanity as a tribute to the departed souls by helping Nigerian people work for prosperity and peace. The UN family stands side by side in the difficult times despite humanitarian challenges in the country faced by UN staff.
