Kabul, 16 September 2021 (TDI): On Wednesday, 15th September 2021, Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner concluded his three-day visit to Afghanistan.
UN High Commissioner for Refugees, during his visit, meet with Taliban Delegations and the Interim Government officials. Filippo Grandi also met with the UN peace missionary as well as the NGOs working in Afghanistan.
With the help of Relief Convoy, Filippo Grandi guaranteed the security of humanitarian operations. On the afternoon of 15th-September-2021, UN High Commissioner for Refugees also inaugurated the carpet processing center. The center started near Mazar-e-Sharif. The carpet workshop employs 45 workers. These workers are tirelessly supporting hundreds of families in need.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, on his visit, ensured the complete support of UNHCR for the displaced Afghans. Adding to the situation UN High Commissioner for Refugees added that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan remains frantic.
The next visit of the High Commissioner is to Pakistan. In Pakistan, Filippo Grandi will meet the Government Official. The High Commissioners and the government will hold constructive talks to review the refugee situation in Afghanistan.
