UK-Singapore Strengthens Cyber Partnership

London (TDI): Edward Chen, the Defense Cyber Chief of the Singapore Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS), visited the United Kingdom On Thursday. This visit was intended to fortify the relationship between the United Kingdom-Singapore in the cyber domain.

The Singaporean Defense Cyber Chief participated in bilateral engagements with key UK stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defense, the National Cyber Security Centre, and industry leaders.

During his visit, he also attended the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Cyber Power Workshop.

Deputy Commander Strategic Command Lt Gen Tom Copinger-Symes underscored the UK’s dedication to international collaboration in the cyber domain during this visit, which occurred prior to the Singapore International Cyber Week.

According to Lt Gen Tom Copinger-Symes, “External relationships are vital in this domain, which spans national and geographic boundaries.”

The United Kingdom and Singapore are global leaders in the development of electromagnetic and cyber capabilities. They collaborate closely with international partners to foster a secure and stable digital environment.

Additionally, this visit expanded upon the UK-Singapore Strategic Partnership, which was established in September.

According to this partnership  both countries’ are dedicated to enhance collaboration in areas of mutual interest, such as emergent technologies and cyber.

The partnership with Singapore is essential to address shared cyber challenges and ensure a resilient digital future.
