UK Foreign Minister, UN Secretary General’s envoy discuss Afghanistan

-

London, 24 August 2021 (TDI): Foreign and First Secretary of State UK, Dominic Raab in a conversation with the UN Secretary General’s special representative on Afghanistan, Jean Arnault, discussed the international strategies of the UK and its role to stabilize the region.

FM Raab expressed that to achieve lasting peace in Afghanistan, it is pertinent to bring countries and the international community to a platform for dialogue so that access to humanitarian assistance for the Afghan refugees could be made possible.

The UK government is trying its best to work for better opportunities for Afghan nationals and also to support the current influx of refugees in Europe. Since the Taliban took charge of Afghanistan, the UK Government has been focused on providing safe departure for Afghan refugees and foreign nationals. Since April around 8500 people have been evacuated safely from Afghanistan.
