UAE, Pakistan Foreign Minister hold Telephonic Dialogue

Islamabad, 9 February 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a telephonic dialogue with Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The two counterparts deliberated upon issues pertaining to common interests. During the phone call, the Foreign Ministers reaffirmed the close and brotherly ties between UAE and Pakistan.

In addition, they agreed to further mutually beneficial expand bilateral collaboration in a myriad of fields. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, on his part, condemned the attacks perpetrated by the Houthi militia against the UAE.

Moreover, he reiterated that such type of aggression imperils regional peace as well as security. Ergo, the nefarious acts must be stopped immediately. During the phone call, Foreign Minister Qureshi also congratulated the Government of the UAE on the successful undertaking of Dubai Expo 2020.

Whilst reminiscing about his visit to the Pakistan Pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020, UAE’s Sheikh Abdullah immensely appreciated the exceptional design and exhibition of the Pavilion.

Aside from that, he expressed satisfaction at the state of collaboration in multilateral forums between the two allies. Likewise, the two Ministers acquiesced to continue close collaboration in regional as well as global organizations.

This will also include cooperation regarding the FATF, too. Pakistan and the UAE enjoy cordial and close ties based on mutual respect, common values, and joint interests. The two countries have had ties spanning five decades.

Both partners frequently collaborate in various domains that include cooperation in the economic, trade, education, and defense sectors. Furthermore, a lot of Pakistanis are residing in the UAE for jobs and enterprises.
