Abu Dhabi, 26 December 2023(TDI): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have expressed enthusiasm for UN Special Envoy Hans Grundberg’s initiative to construct a roadmap for Yemeni parties, aiming to support the peace process.
Moreover, in a statement, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed appreciation for the concerted efforts of the UN and its special envoy, along with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the UAE’s ongoing support for regional and global initiatives aimed at fostering a political settlement in Yemen. This commitment aligns with Yemen’s aspirations for security, prosperity, and stability.

Additionally, the UAE has reiterated its commitment to promoting the growth and well-being of the Yemeni people, as part of its broader efforts to assist the communities in the region.
According to reports, the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also appreciated the statement published by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, about creating a road map to promote Yemen’s peace process.
The General Secretariat, Hissein Brahim Taha, reiterated the OIC’s unwavering commitment to Yemen and its citizens. It expressed eagerness to encourage Yemeni parties to engage in productive discussions, aiming to reach a comprehensive and enduring political solution under the umbrella of the United Nations.
Furthermore, the proposed approach seeks to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, enabling them to focus on securing peace and stability. This, in turn, fosters comprehensive and sustainable development, empowering them to achieve their aspirations.
