Islamabad (TDI): Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, İrfan Neziroğlu, met the parliamentarians from the PAK-TURK Friendship Group, at the National Assembly of Pakistan. Ideas to significantly ramp up parliamentary diplomacy were discussed.
The Ambassador expressed Turkiye’s solidarity and support for Pakistan, in all areas of mutual interest, and shared with the parliamentarians that parliamentary diplomacy will be a priority area in the “near future.”

In a separate meeting, Member of Punjab Assembly and President of Young Parliamentarians Forum, Amina Hassan Sheikh also called on the Turkish Ambassador. They discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation at the level of provinces.
They also discussed cooperation in areas focusing on women and children with disability.
Turkiye’s diplomatic mission in Islamabad actively takes part in joint activities with Pakistan’s Red Cross, in addition to multiple other initiatives of people to people contact.
Inter-parliamentary cooperation has also emerged as one key area of cooperation between the two countries.
During Pakistan’s most recent military conflict with India, Turkiye came out openly to support Pakistan. Turkish naval fleet was ready to step up if need be.
The Turkish Ambassador actively met Pakistani officials during this time, including the Prime Minister himself, and carried the messages to and fro.

PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed appreciation and gratitude to Turkiye President Erdogan, multiple times since the start of tensions with India after Pahalgam attack of April 22, 2025.
People in both countries are expressing their love for each other since the ceasefire was agreed upon between Pakistan and India, on May 10, 2025.
People in Turkiye came out on streets and celebrated Pakistan’s heroic fight against India, especially its air combat.
