Washington, D.C (TDI): President Trump signed an executive order today that forbids transgender women from competing in women’s sports to promote safety and parity in these sports.
“Decades of advancements in female athletics have been undermined in recent years by numerous schools and athletic organizations allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports,” stated President Trump. “Ensuring safety, honour, and equal opportunities for women and girls in sports is far more significant than just being equitable.”
Republicans argue that it makes sports more equitable again, but human rights and LGBTQ advocacy groups have called the action racist.
High schools, colleges, and grassroots sports are mainly regulated by the order that goes into effect immediately.

According to White House officials who briefed the media on Wednesday morning, this subsequent order gives the Department of Education the power to look into how schools use Title IX, a US rule that forbids sex discrimination in federally financed educational programs.
Furthermore, Trump reiterated that if you allow men to take over female sports teams or attack the locker rooms, you will be prosecuted for violations of Title IX and lose your federal funding.
In addition to this, the National Collegiate Athletics Association, or NCAA, is one of the sporting organizations that the White House intends to invite to meet with female athletes and their parents to look into issues.
The US will take every necessary measure to stop transgender athletes from competing against women in International Olympic Committee (IOC) events held in the US, according to the official who addressed the decision.
The 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles would be included in the order, according to President Trump.
He has also threatened to refuse the visas of transgender Olympic athletes trying to visit the US for the LA Games.
Trump declared that the assault on women’s sports has ended. Before signing the executive order, he stated that their administration would not stand by and watch men beat and batter female athletes” during the LA Games.

He declared that he would order the Homeland Security Secretary to decline all visa requests submitted by men who seek to unlawfully visit the United States while portraying themselves as women athletes.
According to White House officials, the policies are widely supported by Americans and are crucial for maintaining secure play and equality for women in sports.
Before this, Trump signed another order on January 20, his first day in office, requesting that the federal government formally define sex as either male or female.
