BERLIN (TDI): Tens of thousands took to streets in Berlin against the Germany’s involvement in the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.
Marching through various parts of the city under the slogan, “War, never again – Put down your weapons,” demonstrators voiced strong opposition to Germany’s provision of military support to both Ukraine and Israel.
Carrying banners with slogans such as “Peace,” “No to war,” and “Diplomats instead of grenades,” protesters demanded a peaceful resolution to both conflicts.
Protesters Demands Ceasefire
The rally comes amid continued military operations by Russia in Ukraine and Israel’s ongoing offensive in Gaza, which have resulted in thousands of casualties and widespread displacement.

Sahra Wagenknecht, co-chair of the left-wing populist party Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), addressing the protesters, urged for direct negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin to bring an end to the war in Ukraine.
Wagenknecht criticized the international community for what she described as “double standards” in its approach to the conflicts and condemned Germany’s alignment with U.S. foreign policy.

In contrast, Ralf Stegner, a member of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Social Democratic Party (SPD), defended Ukraine’s right to self-defense and the role of German-provided air defense systems in protecting the country from Russian attacks.
However, his remarks were met with boos and jeers from the crowd, reflecting the growing domestic opposition to Germany’s military support for Ukraine.
