Telephonic conversation between German FM and US State Secretary


Berlin, 25 August 2021 (TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs Germany, Heiko Maas had a telephonic conversation with his US Counterpart, Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State. FM Heiko Maas gave assurance to the US Secretary of state of the close coordination with its international partners and community for the ongoing evacuation mission taking place in Afghanistan. Germany has continuously played its role in the safe evacuation of German as well as other foreign nationals and Afghan refugees since the change in the Kabul regime.

German Minister took to Twitter to remark that the Western powers “will continue to coordinate our partners closely – on ongoing evacuation, prospects for flight operations after the end of the airlift, further departure options for Afghans & on how to deal with the Taliban together.”
