Afghanistan’s gains of 20 years must be preserved, says PM Boris

London, 25 August 2021 (TDI): Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson affirmed a meeting with G7 member countries to discuss the situation and required actions on the current situation in Afghanistan.

PM Boris Johnson asserted that to deal with the situation the international community has to work together so that safe evacuation operations can be carried.

Furthermore, the prevention of humanitarian crises is the responsibility of the international community.

These past 20 years were the years of gain of freedom and the rights of the Afghan people. It is the responsibility of the international community to secure these rights for the Afghan which took time of around 20 years for building.

G7 member countries agreed to conduct a shared approach to come on suitable terms to continue past progress. PM Boris Johnson also stated that “we must have a shared roadmap for engaging with the Taliban that aims to preserve the progress of the last 20 years.”
