Dushanbe, 4 October 2022 (TDI): The President of Tajikistan and the Foreign Minister of KSA expressed enthusiasm to develop collaboration between the two countries.

Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan met Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The meeting took place on 3rd October 2022 as the Saudi Foreign Minister is on an official visit to Tajikistan.

Negotiations on Mutual Areas of Interests 

The representatives of both countries discussed numerous matters of mutual interest. They reconnoitered a broad range of areas of collaboration between Tajikistan and the KSA.

They discussed to develop and strengthen the cooperation and attraction of investment in the various sectors. These included trade, economy, energy, transport, communication, construction, agriculture, and tourism.

Strategies and Commissions

The interlocutors discussed the issue of effective implementation of the national strategies of Tajikistan and KSA.

These schemes included the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030 and the Vision 2030 Strategy. The implementation of these strategies would be beneficial for the nationals of both states.

The stakeholders demonstrated interest to amplify the operational activities of the various councils of mutual concentration.

The bodies included the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf & Central Asia, and the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific & Technical Cooperation.

the Association of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia, & the Council of Entrepreneurs is also included. The two leaders also deliberated the matters relevant to international affairs and the global community.

They paid specific attention to the issues related to security, terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, transnational crime, and political insecurity in Afghanistan.

Meeting of Foreign Ministers

Sirojiddin Muhriddin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan also met with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

Both counterparts exchanged views and explored prospects of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two states.
