Brussels, 17 November 2022 (TDI): Zheenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic met Hadja Lahbib, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade, and Federal Cultural Institutions of the Kingdom of Belgium.

The ongoing year marks the 30th anniversary of the initiation of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Kingdom of Belgium.

With particular reference to this occasion, the representatives of both states met in Brussels on 16th November 2022.

Discussion between Representatives

The representatives of both states underlined the fruitful and friendly nature of the relationship between the two states.

They further reiterated their objectives and strategy to improve the mutual partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and Belgium.

The counterparts also negotiated and explored further plans to ensure the continuation and development of political dialogues between the two states. It was agreed that such consultations should be organized between the highest political elites of both states.

Likewise, they also agreed to enhance practical cooperation in manifold sectors. However, the predominant fields include trade, economy, investment cooperation, and the building up of the joint legal framework.

Discussion on Global and Regional Security Issues

The interlocutors also deliberated on significant global and regional issues. They exchanged views on the current security situation and challenges to the region and all over the world.

The parties highlighted the importance of maintenance of peace and harmony for peaceful co-existence. They also looked into the substantial security troubles and explored the way toward peace and stability.

Elections of UN Human Rights Council

Both parties also swapped greetings on the election of Kyrgyzstan and Belgium to the UN Human Rights Council for the period 2023-2025.

They contracted to endure the collaboration and shared efforts for the protection and promotion of human rights. The defined objective was intended to accomplish both within the mandate of the UN Human Rights Council and at the bilateral level.
