Swedish, Turkish officials reassure support for Yemen

Aden, 15 October 2021 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs of Yemen, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak met with the Swedish Special Envoy to Yemen Peter Semneby and the Turkish Ambassador to Yemen, Mustafa Polat, respectively, on different occasions. The Foreign Minister has been creating awareness regarding his country’s sitution on different forums.

During the meetings, the Yemeni Foreign Minister apprised the Swedish and Turkish officials about the latest political development in his country. Prospects for cooperation and development were also discussed in the meeting with the allies. The objective of the legitimate government of Yemen is to establish peace in the country.

However, the Houthis are the main hurdle in the acquisition of that goal. He also brought to their notice the latest targeting of Al-Abdiyyah in the Ma’rib governorate by the Houthis. The militia is using heavy weaponry against the unarmed civilians, causing instability. He underscored the absurdity of the war imposed by the Houthis.

Bin Mubarak appreciated the Turkish and Swedish officials for their contributory efforts to reinstate peace and stability in the region. The Swedish Envoy on his part assured his country’s support for Yemen and the resolution o0f the crisis. The Turkish Ambassador also affirmed his country’s support for Yemen’s cause.
