Sri Lankan team included Dasun Shanaka (C), Kusal Mendis (WK), Pathum Nissanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dhananjaya De Silva, Dilshan Madhushanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Danushka Gunathilaka, Chameera Karunaratne, Maheesh Theekshana and Pramod Madushan.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Sri Lankan openers did not perform well. Sri Lanka lost 3 wickets in the powerplay.
Then came Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Wanindu Hasaranga, who anchored the Sri Lankan innings and took Sri Lanka to 170 in their allotted 20 overs.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 71 off just 45 balls. From Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 3 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs.
In response, Pakistan also lost two early wickets. But Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Rizwan played well and took the team score to 93. After that, the wickets started falling one after the other, and the Pakistan team was eventually bowled out at 147.

Sri Lanka won the final by 23 runs. Muhammad Rizwan scored 55 runs off 49 balls. From Sri Lanka, Pramod Madushan took 4 wickets for 34 runs in his 4 overs. Wanindu Hasranga took 2 wickets.

Sri Lanka has become the Asian Champion for the 6th time in the history of the Asia Cup and has beaten Pakistan for the time in the Asia Cup final. Muhammad Rizwan was the top scorer of the tournament and Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the top wicket-taker.

The Sri Lankan team won their first major ICC title since 2014 with their brilliant performance against Pakistan. Bhanuka Rajapaksa was declared Player of the Match while Wanindu Hasaranga became the Man of the Tournament for Asia Cup 2022.
