Islamabad, 14 August 2022 (TDI): The Representative of Northern Cyprus, officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ambassador Dilşad Şenol shared a message on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Independence of Pakistan.
Message of the TRNC Representative
“I would like to extend my heartfelt felicitations to the People of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of Independence.
75 years ago today was the victory of the People of Pakistan in their struggle for liberation under the magnificent leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah resulted in the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
There are no shortcuts to success. Unmatched sacrifices were made to protect and safeguard religious, cultural, and social values in this country, while the spirit of unity, faith, discipline, and hard work bore its fruit to transform this nation into a state where democratic norms could flourish and rule of law prevailed.
The hearts of the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has always been beating together.
This was very well highlighted by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Arif Alvi in one of his speeches last year and I quote: “the Pakistani and Turkish Cypriots might speak different languages but we are one”.
The warm and brotherly bond between our countries has its roots in our respective histories having similar challenges.

While Turkish Cypriot people still live under unjust and inhumane isolations, Kashmiri people are still facing oppression and grave human rights violations.
Pakistan has always supported the Turkish Cypriot cause in the Cyprus issue, while the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is in solidarity with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue and fully supports Pakistan’s stance.
On the occasion of this special day, I would like to pay tribute to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of this country and paved the way forward for future generations to live peacefully in their homeland.
May Allah Almighty bless this beautiful country with a bright future full of success stories and its brotherly People with safety, health, and prosperity.

Pakistan’s Diamond Jubilee
Pakistan is commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of the 75th Independence Day, today. The day began with a 21-gun salute at the provincial headquarters and a 31-gun salute at the federal capital.
At dawn, special prayers were said at mosques for the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity. A ceremony to raise the national flag was the focal point of the festivities.
Similar flag-raising ceremonies also took place across the nation at provincial, divisional, and district levels. Likewise, the Pakistani missions across the world hosted flag hoisting ceremonies.
