Seoul, 15 November 2021 (TDI): On Sunday, the Vice Foreign Minister of South Korea, Choi Jong- Kun left for Washington; where he will be having talks with his fellow ministers from US and Japan.

Foreign Minister Choi is visiting Washington till Friday. On Wednesday, he will have trilateral talks with the US Deputy State Secretary; Wendy Sherman, and Japan’s Foreign Minister, Mori Takeo.

The main agenda of the meeting is to discuss North Korea’s nuclear program and the shortage of the global supply chain. The three fellow ministers are likely to talk about the resumption of talks with North Korea.

South Korea and the US are trying to bring North Korea back to the table for dialogue; to ensure peace and stability in the region.

According to a statement by the South Korean Foreign Ministry Choi Jong- Kun is also going to hold a one on one meeting with his Japanese counterpart.

This is going to be the first interaction between the representatives of both the country since the appointment of Fumio Kishida as the new Prime Minister of Japan. Seoul and Tokyo both are in pursuit of peace and a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula.
