Moscow, 17 February 2024 (TDI): Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed of Pakistan, upon invitation by the United Russia Party, embarked on a significant journey to Moscow.

The purpose of his visit was to participate in the Constituent Meeting of the Forum of Supporters of the Struggle Against Modern Neocolonialism Practices for the Freedom of Nations.

During his stay in Moscow, Senator Mushahid Hussain actively engaged in various panel discussions.

One notable highlight was his tête-à-tête with Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Global Forum against Neo-Colonialism and for Freedom of Nations.

These discussions delved into crucial matters pertaining to global politics and mutual cooperation.

Lecture at Russian Diplomatic Academy

Senator Hussain’s presence was marked by a lecture delivered at the esteemed Russian Diplomatic Academy. Titled “Pakistan and the Changing Regional Scenario,” the lecture provided insights into Pakistan’s perspective on regional dynamics.

It underscored the growing relationship between Pakistan and Russia, touching upon crucial areas such as energy, connectivity, regional security. Also including, Afghanistan and cooperation at multilateral forums such as SCO and UN.

Furthermore, Senator Hussain commended President Putin’s steadfast stance against Islamophobia.

Interactive session and bilateral discussions

Following the lecture, an interactive session with students facilitated a dynamic exchange of ideas. Notably, the session was attended by Senator Chizhov of the Russian Federation Council, fostering dialogue between Pakistani and Russian youth.

Moreover, Senator Mushahid Hussain held substantive discussions with the Rector of the Diplomatic Academy. These discussions revolved around emerging global political trends and explored avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Russia.

The outcomes of these discussions were highly constructive, reflecting shared interests and mutual benefits.
