Rawalpindi, 22 March 2022 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan.

The agenda of the meeting was to deliberate upon matters of mutual interest, regional security, the prevalent situation in Afghanistan, as well as bilateral defense relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, General Qamar Javed Bajwa enunciated that Pakistan treasures its historical and fraternal ties with KSA and recognizes its distinctive position in the Islamic world.

The Chief of Army Staff termed the OIC’s 48th Council of Foreign Ministers session as a historic development for bringing the global community to a joint strategy and shared vision so as to find solutions to arising challenges essential for peace and stability.

While the Saudi Foreign Minister on his part lauded Pakistan’s role in the Afghan situation, role in regional stability, and special efforts for border management.

Moreover,  Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud committed to play his part for further advancement in diplomatic collaboration between Pakistan and KSA at all levels.

In addition, he especially admired the efforts of Pakistan in hosting the 48th Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

48th Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is holding the 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The theme of the 48th CFM is Building Partnerships for Unity, Justice, and Development. The Summit will be held from March 22 to 23, 2022. The OIC’s Secretary-General, Hissein Brahim Taha, will address the meeting.

The Session will address multifarious topics as well as the activities of the OIC General Secretariat. The agenda of the 48th OIC CFM is to evaluate the implementation of the resolutions adopted on various matters in the Islamic world.
