Islamabad (TDI): A 15-member delegation from the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Command and Staff College of Saudi Arabia, currently on a foreign study tour to Pakistan, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed by Additional Secretary (Middle East) Syed Ahmed Maroof, who provided a comprehensive overview of Pakistan’s foreign policy priorities, with particular emphasis on developments in the Middle East and Pakistan’s bilateral relations with KSA.
He highlighted the historical depth, strategic trust and close cooperation that characterize Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, spanning political, defense, security, economic and people-to-people domains.
The briefing was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, during which members of the delegation exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
The Saudi officers showed keen interest in Pakistan’s perspectives on regional security dynamics, diplomatic engagement, and its role in promoting peace and stability in the wider region.
The discussion reflected a shared understanding of common challenges and the importance of coordinated approaches to address them.

Additional Secretary Maroof also underscored the significance of defense and security cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, noting that close institutional linkages, regular exchanges of high-level visits, joint training programs and professional interactions have contributed to further strengthening bilateral ties.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the Kingdom in line with the shared vision of the leadership of both countries.
The Head of the Saudi delegation expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for arranging the briefing and facilitating meaningful engagement with Pakistani officials.
He appreciated the warm hospitality extended to the delegation and described the visit as informative and valuable for enhancing understanding of Pakistan’s foreign policy outlook and regional role.
He also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s desire to further expand cooperation with Pakistan in defense, security and other areas of mutual benefit.
The visit of the delegation to Pakistan is a manifestation of the excellent defense and security relations between the two countries, which are founded on mutual trust, shared strategic interests and long-standing fraternal ties.
