Luxemburg city, 30 Setember 2021 (TDI): Rwanda Ambassador to Luxemburg, Dieudonné Sebashongore, met with Finance Minister of Luxembourg, Pierre Gramegna in Luxemburg City, on 30 September.
Ambassador Dieudonné Sebashongore and Luxemburg Foreign Minister Pierre Gramegna signed a bilateral agreement this afternoon, namely, Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA).
A strong DTAA network is critical for Rwanda to establish itself as a financial centre and competitive jurisdiction for cross-border commerce and investment. In addition to avoiding double taxation, however, DTAAs facilitate the exchange of information.
Investment funds are structured and domiciled in Luxemburg, a leading financial centre.
Rwanda’s construction of a comprehensive DTAA network with nations both inside and outside Africa is supported by Kigali International Financial Centre to attract more African investment.
Ambassador Sebashongore also met with Manuel Tonnar, director of cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxemburg, on the sidelines of the DTAA signing. They addressed the progress of preparations for Minister Franz Fayot’s visit to Kigali during African Microfinance Week.
