Beijing, 31 December 2021 (TDI): According to a statement released by the Kremlin on Thursday, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin sent New Year’s greetings to the President of China, Xi Jinping. In the message, he also wished success for the upcoming 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
President Putin will attend the inaugural ceremony of the Beijing Winter Games which will be held in the Chinese capital, Beijing, on February 4 next year. In his message referring to his meeting with the Chinese President, he expressed optimism and confidence about the capability of China to successfully host the sports event.
“I have no doubt that our Chinese friends will make sure that the Winter Olympic Games are a success. I look forward to our meeting at the opening ceremony of this sports festival”
Exceedingly Productive Relation of China and Russia
About Russia and China, President Putin stressed that the interaction of Russia with China has been “exceedingly productive” in diverse areas such as political dialogue, scientific and technological cooperation, as well as trade, in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to that, the Russian President also highlighted the efforts for an effectual coordination between China and Russia in order to address critical regional as well as international issues. The two leaders also held a virtual meeting this year to discuss issues pertaining to mutual interest.
In the message, President Putin also voiced his confidence that the two partner countries will boost the bilateral ties between the two countries; in the future as well as in the new joint project.
The new joint project between the two countries is the Year of Cooperation in Physical Fitness and Sports. Russia and China will fully implement it. China and Russia proclaim that the next two years will be devoted to their bilateral collaboration on sports development and physical culture.
